Center Releases Advocacy Manual for Using the Americans with Disabilities Act on Behalf of Individuals with Disabilities in TANF Programs
In 2004, the Center published the most substantive and comprehensive guide for welfare advocates, Using the Americans with Disabilities Act to Protect the Rights of Individuals with Disabilities in TANF Programs: A Manual For Non- Litigation Advocacy
The manual significantly expands advocates' understanding of the ADA and encourages advocacy on behalf of those with disabilities. It is an invaluable resources and is in wide use across the country. The Office for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services distributed copies to all of its regional offices.
